Maximizing Productivity – Apps I’m Loving 📱

Hello everyone 😀

It’s been an amazing first month of the year with even more amazing weather. In this part of the world, it’s a pretty rare occurrence for it to be raining in January. But I’d happily take the rain over the blazing furnace sunshine.

Now, apart from being content in my singleness here, being productive and utilizing my time is another big task I’ve set out to accomplish. In this 21st century, technologically-oriented phase of life, one very quick and simple way to go about that is through the use of applications 📱

Thankfully, I have access to decent Wi-Fi and a good phone (I’m open to receiving new phonessssss though 😁), so apps have been pretty useful to me.

I’d be sharing below the apps that have been of really great help to me, for planning my days, listening to podcasts, focusing, working towards my ideal weight etc and also share my opinions about them.

I’ll also include the links for downloads both for Android and iOS app stores just in case you want to try them out.

1. Castbox

I honestly cannot remember how I came across this app, but I’m very grateful I did. They host a ton of podcasts. Any podcast you can think of, is probably on Castbox.

If becoming more productive this year is one of your goals, then I highly recommend getting on the podcast train. You can thank me later 😉

I’d give this app a 5 star rating anytime, anywhere.

2. Tide

Tide helps with focus, breathing exercises and sleep/naps. Coupled with the fact that you can choose from many different sounds (even in the free edition), Tide is one app everyone should try out.

I personally like the Muse scene. I don’t know what ‘light falling from the sky‘ actually sounds like, but I bet they did a pretty good job describing it!

I give this app 5 stars.

3. Lifesum

This app I discovered from YouTube. For some reason, YouTubers never seem to shut up about Lifesum, so yours’ truly had to check it out for herself.

I set up my account and found the app pretty easy to use. One downside however, is that if you do not have a wearable to sync to the app to track your exercise, you’re going to have to manually input your exercise 😖😖

I use the free version, so I don’t have access to the meals, but you can pretty much see what meals you can prepare to meet your calorie goals, you just won’t be able to get the recipe.

Oh, it also has a barcode scanner that can scan your packaged foods and tell you how many calories it contains. That’s a really cool feature.

I give this app a 4.2 rating, only because Google Play doesn’t want to let me add my card, so I can’t access the premium features 😓😓

4. Any.do

Very minimalistic UI. Blue and white are my two favorite colors, so this app won me over pretty quickly.

Any.do looks so simple, but it can do a whole lot. This app let’s you create shopping lists and groups them according to the supermarket aisles!

Lol at order chickens 😌

This app gets a 4.5 star rating only because, Google Play is working against me and my ATM card.

5. Keep Notes

Keep Notes is a note-keeping app by Google. I used to use this app a while back, but I deleted it because I needed space on my phone (the dark ages 😪).

Thankfully, I now have a phone with a much larger memory, so 😎

Nothing I say will really give you a clear picture of how good this app is. You definitely have to try it for yourself.

I give Google Keep a 5 star rating.

6. Your Hour

I just recently downloaded this app and I love it!

It helps with tracking your phone/app usage.

We’re on our phones 90% of the day and if we must become our most productive selves, it is important that we realize how much time we spend on our phones and then begin to channel that time into getting other things done.

When I saw my WhatsApp usage time, I wanted to cry. But I made up my mind to move that time into other things.

Usage and Unlock count

This app speaks for itself, but you’ll never get to hear it if you don’t try out the app 😉

Daily Usage Report 👀

I’ll give this app a 4.8 star rating only because I just started using it.

If you made it this far, thank you so much for taking out time to read this post. I’m super grateful 😘

Maybe there will be an updated app post, maybe they won’t. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.

If you have any app recommendations for me, please leave them in the comments. Have you tried any of the apps listed, if yes, what was your experience like?

I would love to hear from you.

  4. Great read. I honestly haven’t heard of any of the apps that were mentioned so I’m glad I learned about them. There’s something I love about YouTube that you mentioned in one of the apps you mentioned. YouTube has a sector now where you can check the amount of time you spend in a week or a day watching videos. It helps a lot because it teaches us how to prioritize and also focus on our goals 😊. Thank you for sharing.

  5. Keep is really a great app. I like to write down names of people that owe me money but when I use paper/books I just end up forgetting which book or losing the book. Keep keeps me updated on my 💰 😂. Also there are other great apps like Eventbrite that lets you know about all types of events happening around you from concerts to festivals to conferences and even free events. Then last but not the list the piggy bank app that lets you save money and set a target date for withdrawal….it’s also safe as the builders have a microfinance bank and utilize the latest security encryptions.
Then my favorite is the Duolingo app…been using it to learn Spanish and German for a while. Doesn’t demand much of your time depending on how you want it.
