It’s been a really long minute since I did a favorites post. I blame myself. I failed miserably at appreciating the little things around me.
In order to change this, I made a conscious decision to be more aware of my surroundings, and to practice more gratitude.
This might lead to more ‘favorites’ post. Who knows 🤔
1. Everything Nneka Julia
On one of my usual stalking trips on Twitter, I came across a post recommending Nneka Julia’s podcast Passing Through. So, I opened my Castbox app, searched for the podcast, listened (to every episode in one morning), and totally fell in love with it.
There, she tells stories of her journeys, lessons learnt and many other ear-catching details.
I really don’t know how I never came upon Nneka Julia before, but she definitely has a fan in me.
2. Zoho Notebook App
Prior to this notebook find, I had used Evernote. It turned out too bleak. That white and green UI, the non-customisable features. I just couldn’t 😢
I tried Google Keep. Kept at it for a while, and gave up (see what I did there 😏).
When I got my new phone, it didn’t come with a notes app preinstalled, so I set out on the hunt for one that would sate my needs.
Presenting Notebook (by Zoho)
I just typed in Notebooks in my app store and clicked on this one. I don’t know why, but I did.
I read the description and the reviews before installing it and since then, I haven’t had a single complaint. It syncs between devices, features can be customized and is very easy to use.
However, I use an Android phone, so I really don’t know if this app is available for iOS users.
Do check the app out and I would appreciate your feedback.
3. Estée Lalonde’s Channel
Free Wi-Fi has its perks. One of them being the freedom to stream YouTube videos anytime, anywhere.
It’s even made better by the fact that I can lie on my bed and connect to the internet without stress.
Well, I was on one of my YouTube sessions and one of Estée’s videos was recommended to me. It’s probably excess data that made me click on it, but I’m happy I did.
She has a podcast too, for those who might not want to go on YouTube for whatever reason – The Heart of It. Sadly, she won’t continue with The Heart of It because she plans on starting a new podcast. Fingers crossed that it’s as great as this 🤞
update: Her new podcast is out 🎊 🎊 On The Line
Whenever I jog in the morning, I like to reward myself with a smoothie later in the day.
The best part of selecting the fruits for your smoothie is that you’re allowed to include almost any fruit. This allows for some really creative combos.
Cucumber, Beetroot, Watermelon, Ginger and Apple.
Pineapple, Cucumber, Coconut and Vanilla.
Cucumber, Coconut, Vanilla, Peanut Butter and Banana.
Watermelon, banana, coconut, pineapple, whey protein and cucumber.
Many more combos coming soon 💥
5. American Horror Story
First off, I’ve never watched a serie where the same characters have different roles in each season.
Coupled with the fact that the show has really good ratings, this was really a no-brainer.
I’m in Season 4 right now, moving on to Season 8 soon 💥 💥
6. Living With A Fire Devotional – Jesus Culture
A 14-day devotional based on the new album by Jesus Culture – Living With A Fire.
7. Wonder – Hillsong United
I collected this album from a friend a while ago and never really got around to listening to it. However, some days ago I decided to send the album to my phone.
I absolutely loved the album!
The message, the lyrics, everything about it!
If you can, do get and listen to the album. Trust me, you’ll be blessed 🙏
That sums up my favorites for the month of September. I hope someone finds something they like among this list.
I really hope you enjoyed this post (you better do because I started putting down my favorites a long time ago 😩).
Hopefully, more monthly favorites posts are in the making. Let’s keep our fingers crossed 🤞
Have an amazing day.
