Life Lately

Hello everyone.

It’s been an awfully long time since I’ve been here. I don’t think dusting will remove what has gathered in this space, and I strongly suspect that there is probably a family of spiders living here already. Please understand that stuff comes at you really quick when you’re running an academic program!

It’s been two months since my last post, and so much has happened in that space of time. School has happened, life has happened, preferences have changed and priorities have been rearranged.

To make this post organized, I’ll be placing stuff in categories, and I will really, really try to be as brief as possible (help me Jesus!).

Please, grab some popcorn (side eye look at Frank), a bottle of water (water is life) and sit back because this is going to be enthralling interesting.

โ€ข School

For those who may be interested, my first semester result was amazing, and I’m so grateful to God. If you’ve taken courses in Biostatistics or Bioinformatics, you have an inkling of the relief I felt when I passed the course ๐Ÿ˜€

I also made my seminar and project proposal defence, and God was faithful all through.

My second semester exams start on the 21st of May, and run through to the 31st of May. Pray for your girl people. Your prayers will go a really long way ๐Ÿ˜Š

Thankfully, this is my last semester in my first year of my MSc program. I can’t wait to format relax my brain and just begin work on my thesis.

โ€ข New Finds

Once in a while, I have some free time on my hands, and I use it to waka about the internet. During one of my episodes, I came across the app Castbox, and the rest as they say, is history.

I have found the most awesome podcasts on the Castbox app, and I keep finding more as the days go by. Once in a while, I will still use the TuneIn app on my tab, but Castbox on my phone makes life a whole lot easier.

Below, I have linked some of my favorite podcasts on the Castbox App (PS: You should really check out ‘Business Wars’). Enjoy, my loves ๐Ÿ’‹.

Stuff You Should Know

โ€ข Health and Fitness

You’ll never guess who started running ๐Ÿ˜ฎ.

Nooooo, it’s not Bola (even though she needs it), ughhh, neither is it Pretty, or Fegor (I can’t believe you guys couldn’t guess correctly ๐Ÿ˜‘).

At first, my lungs would be burning when I ran over short distances, but as time went by, and with a little help from someone special, things became so much easier.

My farthest run so far is 1.49km. Kinda poor, but baby steps lead to the ultimate goal, no?

Lest I forget, I’ve been able to handle my lactose intolerance better. Although, I’ve had to cut down on my intake of milk and milk-products, I’ve found a way to survive. A little here, and a little there, and things will work out fine. Also, I honestly don’t understand why milk from alternative sources is so expensive. ๐Ÿ˜ก

โ€ข Relationships

Now before you turn a cartwheel, my friendship with my friends constitutes a relationship. Bola, Pretty and Fegor are fine, and steadily glowing up ๐Ÿ˜†

This might just be me, but I will not bother chit-chatting with someone if they aren’t going to add anything meaningful to my life. Bola says that I’m not welcoming, but that is totally how I feel about making friends. I may be wrong, I may be right, but, please, I am absolutely open to opposing ideologies in the comments section.

One very important thing I learnt in the space of two months in my relationships is that your relationship goals should never come from what we see around us, but from the word of God.

I won’t deny that I may stumble across a video of Nia-cerise and Emmanuel and wish that my relationship would be that way, but I have learnt to constantly remind myself to fix my eyes solely on Jesus. He knows all things, teaches all things, and will make life so much easier.

PS: Hello, brother, you will still return my pen, no matter how much you try to evade it!

โ€ข Spirituality

I had a really rough patch in my spiritual life a while ago. Thankfully, God brought along someone who, even though it hurt, was able to speak sense into me. In addition to his word, God will often use people to speak to you, and I have witnessed that first hand.

Secondly, until I watched this message by Pastor Michael Todd, I never valued the little steps I was taking in my walk with God. For some reason, I thought I had to skip a whole lot of steps and just appear as a fire-breathing, dragon-slaying, miracle-working Christian. I had forgotten that it takes time, and the desire for these realms of the Spirit to access them.

Thankfully, I am learning to value those seemingly little steps, because I understand now that they go a long way in the grand scheme of things.

If you’re interested in other Pastor Michael Todd messages, you can watch them here or follow the live stream here.

โ€ข Beauty

I bought a Tara compressed brown powder, but I think I just wasted my money. I’ve had it for almost 2 months now, and I haven’t even used it up to 5 times ๐Ÿ˜’

On the bright side, my hair grew a bit longer ๐Ÿ˜

๐Ÿƒ

๐Ÿƒ

Before I finish off this post, I’d like to drop one last thing.

What Would you Do With the Holy Ghost?

I hope this stirs up your spirit and edifies you.

You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!
