That One Song 🎶

I am one of those people who will cry shamelessly during worship. Not because I feel remorseful (well, maybe sometimes), but because in that very moment, I am able to let everything else go and just connect.

If you have ever felt just an itty, bitty portion of the love of God, you’ll probably be able to relate to my uncontrollable habit of letting the waterworks flow. Well, I can’t complain. I feel refreshed after.

Now, about worship. I found the perfect song to bawl my eyes to (not all the time though). I heard my roommate play this song first, and I just had to download it.

Unfortunately Sadly it’s not in English. The song is sung in the Nigerian Igbo language. However, some parts are sung in English.

To make life easy for everyone who may not understand Igbo, I will include the lyrics and it’s translation in English.

The song is titled ‘Ekwueme’ by Prospa Ochimana and Osinachi Nwachukwu. Ekwueme translates to ‘the one who does what he says’. I really urge you to look past the fact that this song isn’t sung in English, and just connect.

  1. I love this song! Last time I was home, my sister had it on repeat all day. I just breaking into sessions unplanned! 🙂 Worship for me is sweet and deep and I can’t explain in words how I get to connect to God. I’m not sure I can even teach someone else to do so as I don’t even know how it works. Songs like this sha makes it so seamless.
