His Promises

‘In between a promise and the fulfilment of the promise is the unknown, but if you trust in the promise of the promise giver, you will not be discouraged by what happens in between’.

This sentence above was from a devotional reading in a Bible plan I started on Monday Becoming Spiritually Successful, and since I came across it, I’ve sought out as many ways as possible to share it with others.

The best part is that it also came in useful to me.

I’m sure everyone knows I got a new job (yaay for me), which pays, offers free breakfast, and is super close to my house. That’s an amazing deal tbvh (to be very honest).

I’m also sure that you know I got admitted for my postgraduate masters program, and will be starting in September 😎

But if you’ve been able to put two and two together, you would’ve realized that one of these two amazing offers has to make way for the other.

So,

I spoke to the HR manager of the firm I worked for and told her I had to go for my postgraduate masters, and what didn’t she tell me!.

She: Have you asked about the part-time schooling option?

Me: I can’t do two major things at once. I have to focus on one particular thing.

She: What about deferring your admission for a year?

Me: (Laughs) Naaa. I can’t do that.

She: So when you’re through with your MSc, you do know you’re going to start from square one all over again?

Me: Yes, I doπŸ˜ƒ

I can’t write them all, but she was being really persuasive in a very polite way. The funniest thing is that, the harder she tried to make me defer my PG program, the more determined I was to resign.

I know some of you might say, school can wait. It’s pretty difficult to get a job here in Nigeria, and you have one in your hand that you want to throw away???😀

My answer is yes, I am ‘throwing away’ my job.

Not because I am an unserious person, but because I have been promised something even much bigger than sitting in front of a laptop at a pretty awesome 8am-5pm job.

I’ll be leaving my job at the last week of August so that I can get ready for school in September.

I know this is one of the many crazy decisions I might have to make, but I believe that all things are working for my good.

As I choose to trust in the promise of the promise giver from here on out (and all through my postgraduate program), I will not be discouraged by anything which happens between now and the fulfillment of the promise! πŸ™Œ

β€œBut blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.

NB: You really should follow the Bible plan above. I left a link just so that you can participate as well.

Have a lovely weekend, and stay safe.
